Let it snow...

It must really be winter now. The temperatures have been dropping, and occasionally, the snow is falling. The girls had lots of fun a couple weeks ago making a snowman. Our "Frosty" didn't have a corn-cob pipe or a button-nose, but he didn't mind a bit. And it gave us something to do with our leaves. Megan also got to use her shovel to help out on the driveway. We're getting very close to finishing all our Christmas shopping. Katelyn so far has been a good secret keeper. She loves to help pick out things that Megan would like best.
We hope you're all having a happy holiday season, and staying warm wherever you are!

Merry Christmas!

Taking a Break

It is official that it is time for a break. My last day of work was November 8th. Work has been getting increasingly less fun due to some things going on there, then add that with the girls are getting older and more difficult the day after I work to get enough sleep to not be a grumpy mom. These two things put together make it time to hang up my stethoscope for a while. I counted up my hours before giving my 2 weeks notice and I have enough hours to renew my license in 2009 when it expires. That makes my license good until 2011, so somewhere between now and then I need to do something to keep it up. Until then, I hope to enjoy my break and just enjoy being a mom!

Katelyn's 4th Birthday

Well, Katelyn is now 4. Amazing how time flies. We had a great birthday party. It started off at the pumpkin patch by our house. All the cousins had fun picking their pumpkins. Then we went to our house and the kids decorated their pumpkins with stickers. Katelyn of course loved opening presents and then we enjoyed some cake and ice cream. Katelyn was very specific that her cake had to be brown with pink letters....and so it was. We love Katelyn very much. Her favorite things to do at 4 are playing princess dress-up, going to preschool, and playing with her friends.

Novell

Well, the layoffs at Novell are quickly approaching, now that Open Enterprise Server 2 has shipped. It looks like I may retain my job, although I have a lot of friends who won't. My team is definitely the best I've ever worked with. I'm sad to see them go, and disappointed with Novell's decision to cut so deeply into already under-resourced groups. Anyway, I'm glad to keep my job and hope for some better job security in the future.

Finally we have a blog!

Welcome, friends and family, to the Chris and Cassi Partridge family blog. We've been WAY behind in setting this up, but forgiveness is for all. :) We plan on using this blog to share pictures and video mostly of our cute kids, and to let you all know what we're up to.
