Megan's parent program - Rain forest Unit

This month's parent program was an open house. Our family had so much fun seeing all that Megan is doing and learning in Discovery Club. Adam especially loved all the places to go play. He was first up in the tree house loft playing with the puppet animals. Then he went to the small playroom off the main room. This unit it is set up like a scientist's tent.

Megan is showing us her number work she does at Club.

Megan and Katelyn in the rain forest tent. They duplicated the environment of the rain forest with thick plastic and a humidifier. The girls said it was hot in there.
We love Discovery Club! I just can't rave enough about all that Megan is learning and how much she is growing.

Spring Break

We had so much fun for Spring Break this year! It started off with a wedding and ended with a birthday, with a lot of playing with cousins in between. My cousin Crystal got married in St. George and it was so great to go be a part of that. Chris and I drove our family early the morning of the wedding to Vegas. Then we had a couple hour break from being in the car and then caravaned with my family the rest of the way to St. George. The wedding was beautiful and it was so good to see everyone.

The reception ended with some great dancing by the kids! And yes, that's Adam licking a glass.

The rest of Spring Break was spent in Vegas, minus Chris who flew home Sunday to go back to work. One of my favorite things we did was go to this AMAZING park. It was huge and the girls had so much fun! Adam sadly missed out because of nap time, but I'm sure it's not the last time we go there. Thanks to Kristin for pointing it out to us.
Other memorable moments: St. Patrick's day party with all the Chesnik's, impromptu music shows by the kids, eating at Red Lobster (Mmmmmm, thanks Mom and Dad), and Megan's birthday party...twice. Megan will get her own birthday post, but here are some other pictures of the week!

Megan, the big 5 year old!

Megan has grown up so much in the last year, yet I still can't believe she is already 5. Megan is such a sweet, beautiful little girl. She loves being with people, doesn't like being by herself, loves cuddles and hugs and kisses, and is loving learning to read and being in preschool. Megan's birthday this year was spent in Vegas with my family. Chris couldn't be there to celebrate, so we used good old Skype to make sure he didn't miss out on Megan's present opening. Too bad Skpe couldn't send him any wonderful Texas sheet cake...mmmmm. Happy birthday to my Megan!
Birthday celebration number 1 with all the Chesnik's. And yes, that's an ice cream machine in the back. What's a Chesnik birthday celebration without homemade ice cream?!

Birthday celebration number 2 (on her birthday) started with traditional breakfast donuts.

Barbie movies are Megan's favorite right now.

Megan has been asking for the game Pop the Pig for a long time. Hope she likes it once she has it!

"Look at me, don't I make a good Rapunzel?"

Rapunzel doll and Megan will become best friends.

Go Diamondbacks!

This year we were lucky to get tickets to the AZ Diamondbacks spring training game against the Texas Rangers. All the Partridges were able to come. It was so much fun! Our seats were amazing. They were just a few rows up by 3rd base.
Adam is happy to be any place where there is a ball.

Me and Megan sporting our sunglasses.

Kaley, Chase, Scott, and Cheryl were on the first row. They were able to say hi to the players when they went to their lockers.
Note: When Adam comes down to sit with you, don't let him throw his ball onto the field,
even if Grandpa is telling Adam to do it. It might make the security people mad. :)
Adam trying to pretend he's not tired and needs his nap.
When I took that picture of Adam laying on the ground, I obviously was paying attention to him and not the game. Seconds later, a foul ball came flying towards us and hit the seats in front of us. No one was hurt, but I'd have to say it was a little scary. By the sound of the ball hitting, I could tell it came at us fast.

All in all, good game. We even won thanks to the cheering of all the kiddos!

Megan's parent program - Desert Unit

Instead of a regular parent program for the desert unit, we got to go on a desert hike! I went as one of the parent volunteers to keep track of everyone on the trail. We went to a little trail about 20 minutes east of us. Who knew there were hiking trails so close to me? This trail was perfect for the kids. It was only 1 mile round trip and literally it was a circle around a small mountain/hill. Also nice, is that is was relatively flat and not too steep for these little legs. On the trail we got to see all the plants/vegetation and some animals that they have been learning about in their desert unit. I know some might disagree, but I think the desert is a beautiful place.
This is Megan's Discovery Club.

Welcome back, and Happy Valentine's Day

Real quick post here.  The big desktop computer is back up and running (and running MUCH better, I might add).  And, as I expected, no data loss either.  I don't have everything reinstalled yet, but I should be able to get most of the important things back up very soon.

Oh, and Happy Valentine's Day!

Adam turns 2!

My little boy turned 2! I can't believe he is that old. He is such a fun person to have in our house. He loves balls, trains, and Mickey Mouse. Because his birthday fell on a Thursday (long dance day for the girls), we celebrated his birthday on Friday. These are pictures on his birthday:
It's my birthday and I can cry if I want to.

That's the happy boy we know and love!
Since Adam loves Mickey Mouse, I went with a Mickey theme for his birthday celebration. Chris's family came over for cookies and ice cream and to open presents. Adam was excited about anything round and ball-like at his party. And the cookies were a hit!
Happy Birthday Adam!
